The Big Golf is coming back to Nakhabino in August 2006!
16 ïî 20 àâãóñòà Le Meridien Moscow Country Club welcomes the participants of the annual international golf tournament Imperial Collection Russian Open 2006 from the 16th up to the 20th of August.
The first Tournament was held in 1993 and since this year it has got the full status of the European Tour event. This fact draws attention of the best golfers all around the world and let it have a very big mass media coverage, including live broadcast in Russia and abroad as well. The practice, the mental toughness and the self-imposed pressure to constantly improve. The Prize fund of the Tournament in 2005 – 500,000 USD - was one of the biggest prize funds being given at the sport events in Russia and at the same events at the tournaments of Easten Europe.
TV programs about the most important events being held during the Russian Open 2005 were broadcasted by RTR Sport Channel in Russian and by channels of European Tour Productions net (Sky Sports, Golf Channel and Eurosport) with auditorium of 250 million people.
In 2006 the Prize fund comes up to 1 000 000 USD and it puts the Russian Open at the equal level with the most prestigious sport events being held by the European Tour from China to the Great Britain. This amount of the Prize fund makes the Russian Open the main competitor to the Kremlin Cup, the main sport event in Russia.
